So honored to be featured in the VSCO Collection for the second time! It's a great inspiration to be surrounded by such thoughtful works.

KAPPELI RESTAURANT, HELSINKI

Kappeli is a pavilion restaurant not far from President's Palace (Eteläesplanadi, 1).
it's almost 150 years old and it's a really nice place to celebrate something, eg your life ; )

the mix of wooden planks, beautiful huge windows, which are actually walls, and splendid chandeliers is setting you in the mood for encountering miracles yet feeling cozy and calm.

you can buy a postcard there and send it right from the restaurant

have no doubt the food is good ; )

the postcard came two weeks later and it was a very nice reminder of some good time spent.

WHAT'S IN MY EARS & ON MY MIND

from the littlest things
to the pain that it brings
down to the things you miss the most
but you won't let yourself go
no you won't let yourself...

Is it really good we don't let ourselves go? Well, I still think it is in most cases. And I'm still holding, 'cuz it's better the devil you know than the devil you don't. And I know that very devil quite well. So I take all my strength to keep myself restrained no matter how weak I am in my cruel nature.

IN MY TRUE LOVE'S EYES

There's beauty in the silver singing river
There's beauty in the rainbow in the sky
But none of these and nothing else can touch the beauty
That I remember in my true love's eyes

DAPHNE GUINNESS: UNDRESSED

what she's saying is so simple and true, still she remains untouchable, inconceivable, and mysterious
"to be in the moment is the best thing you can possibly do ... it's a sort of celebration"

...and then my mama asked me very carefully:
- So maybe you like girls more?...
- Oh no mom, that would be way too easier!

ADORE MORNINGS

I've got two windows in my bedroom this morning

2010-11-07

previously posted boots inspired me to alter my old and boring black crossbody bag. actually it's the second alteration I ever made to it. its flap was amputated earlier and now it's back! with new yellow leather belts going all over the bag. so it's completely new now.
I know I'm crazy) but I enjoy doing such silly things from time to time. my mother gave me this passion for handicrafts. I think it's a kind of maniac feature of mine - to get new things using old things, my hands and imagination.

what's new...

I've got a crush on my new boots by Bernhard Willhelm!

traded my american buffalo leather boots for them. and it worth it x-D
yeah!

picking books

someone is giving away old books in my house for the second week. last time I found a pile on the bench downstairs and this morning another little pile was on the windowsill on my floor.

it's a bit strange feeling 'cuz it's like the person owned them doesn't need'em anymore, so it's like their's gone or something...  but anyway it's good that people can't just throw the books away, it should be sacred.

so the first time my pick was called 'Paris changeful and eternal' - a compilation of novels about Paris by French classics. mmmm, anticipating!
and today I chose Mayakovsky! yes, I love'im! he's so passionate. it's a book of poems and some drama. though I'm afraid there's only propagandistic stuff...  well, anything by him is worth reading, that's for sure.
